God is depending on the believers on earth to get people saved. The harvest of souls is reliant on believers witnessing to that people who may have never heard the gospel or have heard it in the past and failed to belief.
2 Corinthians 2 : 14 “ Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ and maketh manifest the savor of His knowledge by us in every place.”
The Holy Spirit works in a partnership with the preacher to bear witness of the passion of Christ and present the hearer with conviction to the words spoken by the preacher. Which is why it is of utmost importance for a preacher to avoid sharing anything outside the gospel of Christ.
It is the Holy Spirit who will convince men, and He will only bear witness to the gospel of Christ. And without the witness of the Holy Spirit, men cannot be saved. The only testimony that produces faith in the heart of the Believer is the testimony of Christ; the message of Jesus. This is known as the Soul-winner’s caution.
1 Corinthians 2: 1 “And I brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.”
Condemnation is not the message of the gospel, rather it is what happens to a person who rejects the gospel; and they condemn themselves. It is the attitude of the hearer to the gospel that will determine condemnation. The gospel on the contrary is a message of reconciliation.
2 Corinthians 5:19 “To wit, that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.”
As a preacher you must never engage in using condemnation to expose sin, or using fear to convince people.
The message must be reflected in the character of the preacher, since the message is good news, the preacher’s character must also be good. Preachers have to be graceful to people.
Evangelism is to bring men’s thoughts to align to the obedience of Christ. That is their thoughts will align with what Christ did which is for us.
Someone given to evangelism, must be vast and knowledgeable in the scriptures and must be a student of the Word.
